Unst

We went back to Unst today, with our friend Penny, to try and refind the Blackpoll Warbler. We didn't!. We did find 2 swallows, lots of snipe and wheatears, and a distant otter.

Then we went North to Norwick to check out the beautiful Valyie Garden. We had several Yellow browed warblers, 3 blackcaps and some beautiful ferns growing on the walls of a derelict croft.

After that , we did a quick divert to Baltasound  for a very non showy bluethroat.

Last quick check at Haroldswick but still no sign of the Blackpoll warbler so then home, with a lovely stop at Cullivoe.

Super views of the reported Red breasted flycatcher. Then we were delighted to spot a 2nd one.

Cullivoe is always good for seals too. Good end to a super day. Thanks for your company Penny!

And still......

Yup. We have had a bit of a break from the white stuff, although it's trying again tonight. It's still lying though with only a bit...
