Whats the point. Part two

 Nice day today, quite warm.

Jill started off scraping the feature wall. It had been pointed before but we are now featuring the wall so it needs to be tidier and we are using lime and beach sand which would have been used before.

Unconventional method using a kitchen sponge and a lolly stuck works!

The door frame is finished and Bruce added  the missing bit to the skirting. He also levelled out the wood ready to put the door in.

After a bit of grass cutting Jill tried some new spots for otters this evening with no luck. Did find some herons though.

There were lots if Greylags and Starlings about too.

Yesterday's Arctic Tern photos were better than first thought and as they leave soon we are adding them to today.

Surprise end to the day

Bit miserable first thing so Jill got on paint scraping on the last door frame. Won't miss the horrible colouring of it.

Then it was a bit more firewood cutting and another edge to the parking area.

Mid afternoon it was beautiful so Jill headed over to Norby for a walk on the beach. Good to see lots of Terns feeding their newly fledged chick's. There were about 15 razorbills fishing too.

As Jill was finishing the walk, news came out of a rare visitor. A first for Shetland so , picking Rob up on the way through, we headed South for a Hudsonian Godwit on Grutness Pool

Good numbers of dunlin there too. The light was lovely.

Chips on the way home.

Tidy up

Our great volunteer, Sean, was back today helping Jill in the garden. The chicken shelter got relocated to the new run. A good use of scrap...
