Beautiful day

It really was a stunning day, sunny and perfect.

Jill started with a bit if gardening, digging up another net, some more rope and a pipe.

Our neighbours, Kaila and Merran ( and friend) came by with the horses. They are gorgeous so the camera came out.

Rob was feeling like a quick drive so we popped out for a couple of hours  just to say goodbye to the puffins but most had gone already. Nice to see though. We also picked up a few bits at
Grutness And Virkie.

To celebrate Rob feeling better, we had a lovely meal at the golden coach.

Lovely day.

Relaxed Saturday

Rob has to behave for the next couple of weeks so his foot can heal. ( Or heel . Haha) so he rested today . Jill did a little sanding and cleaned out the car as it looked like it had been to the tip a few times. Oh, wait....

As promised a picture of what Patrick has been up to.

On Friday Michael also started repairing the stonework above the bedroom lintel. It nearly gave me heart failure to see the pile of stone on the floor. Just as well we trust him!.

The stairs are starting to show promise.

The weather wasn't great but there was a small break mid afternoon so Jill checked on the chickens, who have settled really well. The girls are called Shelly,  Nog and Dippy. There is one word that goes with all three to be topical.

There is a lot of beautiful Hedge nettle in the walled area now, and lots of moths.

Rob's home

It was a long day with lots of sitting around waiting, mainly for medication. Jill got hungry so popped out to pick up a few DIY bits and lunch. She accidentally ended up in the Olive Tree.

Very nice it was too.
We finally left the hospital after 5 o'clock and headed straight home. Had something to eat and Rob went to bed early to get his foot up.
Jill had a little look to see what Michael and Patrick had been up to. Michael worked indoors as it was really windy and fitted the woodwork in at the top of the stairs.

Will have a proper look at Patrick's handiwork tomorrow.

An egg!

Well, the new chooks behaved beautifully and went to bed in their new house with no problem and we had our first egg this morning. This was a surprise as they had a stressful move.

It was a beautiful day so Jill cut the grass. It actually got quite warm and it's a nice view whilst cutting.

We forgot to put up a photo from yesterday of the same view with an interesting cloud formation.

We were  hoping that Rob would get home today but it didn't happen. They had forgotten to take his last bloods and sort out his prescriptions to take home  unfortunately Jill had to head home alone again. Maybe it will be tomorrow.

It was later than usual so Jill didn't have much time on the way home. A quick visit to the harbour found lots of gulls, guillimots and a nice view of Bressay, with a big ship in the way.

An otter made an appearance on the way too , but just a quick view as it headed off for a nap. Nice to see a wagtail too.

Tidy up

Our great volunteer, Sean, was back today helping Jill in the garden. The chicken shelter got relocated to the new run. A good use of scrap...
