The edges of storm Benjamin came through today so it was a bit fresh. The tide was really high when we got to Melby beach but we have never seen so many gulls there
We spent ages watching a redshank and a purple sandpiper barging each other around whilst trying to stand straight in the wind!
The rock pipits and starlings were really struggling to get anywhere while flying.
There was one downer. Jill spotted a dead bird elow the bridge wall. We think an impact had broken its neck just before we got there. It was a really sweet Little Auk. Jill still hasn't had the opportunity to photograph one and didn't want it to be this way.
Rob had a Podiatry appointment so we then went to Lerwick. While there we popped into the Northlink office as we needed to check on a booking to the Mainland for a hospital appointment in Aberdeen. Luckily we did, patient travel had accidentally booked the return for the wrong month!
