Well, it had to happen. We actually managed to trap the polecat. They are very stinky we can understand why, as road kill, the carrion eaters leave them. It now will not be a problem, but we will continue to leave the trap out. It was very upsetting. Dealing with Crofting/ farming stuff can be very difficult.
Not a good start to the day.
Today we decided to go for the Whites Thrush that has been on Bressay if it was still there. Jill did a bit of painting and varnishing first and we did a quick local patch check first. Nothing unusual accept for a Chaffinch in the garden.
It was very still so some nice reflections.
Bressay was a bit chilly but it was a small plantation we had not been too before. Unfortunately too far for Rob to walk. Very scenic.
The Whites Thrush was tricky and was mostly seen in flight or under the trees but there were plenty of small birds to keep people occupied.
Another good birding day.
