After all the racket outside yesterday. (Think we learned some new swear words from up above.) It was all quiet today. It seemed strange as we had got so used to the noise of the scaffold when the wind blows.
We missed Jim's cheerful face today. Hope he is having fun fitting his neighbours bathroom. Bruce was here though. He started a grand clear up as we had sawdust everywhere. He started upstairs, Rob managed the porch and Jill tackled the hall and kitchen. It gets everywhere. Then Bruce relaid the last few bits of floorboard under the window and the corner in the last bedroom.
We are very excited about the dry windowsill.
We went for Robs foot appointment and left Bruce taping and filling. It has go be the most tedious of jobs to do!
He also found time to finish the bathroom windowsill. We have used the left over wet wall and Bruce edged it with some hardwood strips. Simple but lovely.
Just need skirting now.
Nice to see the first flowering bluebells.
We also did another tip trip. As its our most visited place thought you might like to see a photo.
We haven't really touched on buying things here. Obviously, as you'd expect, it can be a bit tricky with not always much choice. So a big shout out to JEWSONS today for their support with our project ( and patience with out naivity sometimes). Then there is Wayfair. Don't get us wrong, they are a great company and are one of the very few that deliver to Shetland, but by golly its frustrating. We have had supposidly delivered items, that turn up weeks later or not at all, we get damaged items or the wrong items. Today was no exception. We were gobsmacked it was delivered exactly on time but not so pleased to see the mattress had been punctured and was protruding through the packaging. So Jill was back on to them. Getting to be like chatting to old friends. Let's see what they come up with this time. There is a damaged Fridge in the porch that was supposed to be collected 3 weeks ago. We do persevere though as the products are pretty good.
