You do tend to get a bit obsessed about the weather up here. It is intended the topic of conversation. The last two days have been all over the place- rain, drizzle, sunshine and wind.
The house is coming on. Michael has nearly finished plasterboarding the first room and Patrick is working on the last door. Jill has been painting in the hallway using a new colour lime white on the panelling.
The flooring we ordered in Aberdeen has arrived and is now stacked in the barn.
Jill and Rob went to Lerwick on Tuesday to go to the tip and try and pick up on a launcelated warbler. The bird had gone and the tip closed earlier than it was supposed to. It was then off to Bird club for a talk on tracks and signs. It was good for beginners but we didn't really learn anything new. It was good to meet some new people though.
On the way home the Aurora started to show. It took to midnight to be clear. This was taken by the RAF base just above the house.
We discovered that the porch has a big leak with a strong southerly wind so we will now try and find out where from. It won't be that easy as it is coming in through the stonework somewhere under the harl.
Today has been windy, strengthening through the day , leading to rain this evening. It was a beautiful day mostly though. We went for the tip again with success this time and then to see a first Yankie warbler dor Jill in the UK at Bigton. A lovely myrtle warbler.
Lots of Hooded crows about today too and a beautiful moon.
