A funny thing happened on the way to the.......

Jill headed off to the doctors first thing as the excellent medical service picked up something on routine checks. Blood test now sent off.

On her return we discovered the local bunnies deserve a big apology. It turns out it was sheep during the night. Michael and Jill comically managed to persuade them to leave with a bit shepherding, arm waving and shouts of come bye! Jill is very grateful there are no photos.

The garden birds were watching and laughing though.

We then had to rescue Bentley who had climbed under the bed. He was very unhappy and still clearly in pain. It was then off to the vets for his appointment. Colin the vet at Bixter was lovely and arranged for him to have xrays straight away. Poor boy gave as the saddest of looks as we left.

It was then over to Lerwick to drop the new, not working, very expensive, lawnmower back to be looked at. This gave us the delightful dilemma of where to lunch so we tried Fjara near Tescos. Highly recommended. Nice view too.

On the way back a funny thing happened on the way to the vets. Rob had a phone call. It was from the previous gp ( who clearly hasn't bothered to send the very important notes to our new gp's yet after 2 months). He was just looking at the xray from just after the surgery and wanted to know how his pneumonia was. There was a pause........  After the xray Rob was told he could have an appointment in 5 weeks but presumed there was nothing wrong as it was such a long wait. He declined purely on the basis that we would have moved by then. So, now he has waited 2.5 months to be told he has pneumonia. Wow that is a new low. Thankfully we now have a fabulous service so we let him squirm a bit.

To be fair, this phone call was so ridiculous that we laughed all the way to the vets.

We got there just as our young man was waking up. He was so very pleased to see us that he peed in the car. Good news he has damaged his patella but not broken it and there is soft tissue damage. He is now snoring away with a good dose of painkillers. Bless him.

Tomorrow is an early start as Rob has an appointment at Aberdeen hospital. Sumburgh airport for 7am.
