Funny old day

Well, it started withe discovery that the local rabbits had eaten our new plantings and actually dragged some of the willows right out of the ground. Some wire creations will now need to be made. We love rabbits but grrrr.

Michael had to disappear off for a bit so Connor kindly offered to take some of our rubbish to the tip. The bath has now left the building. Unfortunately he had a little mishap on his return and parked his van in quite a substantial ditch.. makes Jill feel not so bad about the well incident!

On Michaels return he helped us have a look at the new mower as it starts but doesn't cut. He couldn't get it to go either so that will have to go back to Lerwick tomorrow. The small electric one has also packed up.

While we were outside, in lovely sunshine, Rob picked up an interesting call. We could hear quail from the house. By 4pm Jill had located 2 singing males by call but they played really hard to get so no photos. They have picked the meadow with 4 curlew nests in so currently off limits.

Did find 2 new plants though and an orchid. Common star of Bethlehem and a new one yet to identify. Spring squill is popping up everywhere.

We wanted to get Rob on the otters today so headed back for a walk and luckily the three reappeared really close to the car. No apologies for more otter pics and a few other bits and bobs.

Unfortunately, when we arrived home we discovered Bentley had hurt himself and was limping badly and in pain. We have spoken to the vet and we have an appointment in the morning. Gingers crossed he us ok. We haven't a clue what happened.
