Spring has sprung

It's lovely to see the wildflowers starting to appear. We have celandine growing in the front grass ( note we don't call it a lawn) and Marsh marigolds are popping up around the Loch and down the many burns. They are a lovely splash of colour now all the daffodils are dading.

The builders did a few bits but decided it was too windy and cold to start the roof so they will be back tomorrow.

Jill assembled the new mower. We have just bought a cheap one to get started with. The grass grows very quickly here. Of course the battery life is about half of what it was sold as, but it works. It will need finishing tomorrow. Mental note- borrow some sheep.

Rob is still working on the doors and paneling in the hall. It is looking really good. Lots of doors in one small area, all need sanding.

The weather improved in the afternoon so Jill went for a walk to the cliffs to find the kittiwakes and black guillimots. Kittiwakes found Nesting on one of the cliffs  but it might be a bit early for the tysties yet. Arctic Skua added as garden bird tick though.

There must have been a dozen seals watching the walk.

This photo shows the Broch on the Loch  it was a homestead but as far as we know has not been investigated. Sadly it is just a pile of stones now
