Ferry good day

It was a  calm start to the day so another fire got rid of some more wallpaper and rubbish from the barns then mid morning we gave our selves a break and headed off for  some exploring.

First stop was the ferry terminal for a visit to Whalsay. A first for both of us. There were 3 divers spotted en route to the Island. 2 Great Northern and 1 White Billed ( below)

It's a beautiful island and surprised us with the number of houses. At Brough we caught up with 3 Snow Geese ( a tick for Jill both in the UK  and Shetland) who were down near the shoreline.

They stayed for a while until a walker disturbed them so they flew straight over Jill's head.

Mid afternoon saw us back on the ferry  to give us some more explore time on the mainland. We decided to head to the North and drove to North Roe. The landscape is quite different up there but still beautiful. We did get a surprise when we found this plane half way up a mountain!

On the way back home we decided on a quick trip to another small island and went over the bridge to Muckle Roe. Again a stunning island with spectacular views. One we will definately revisit.  A super but busy day

  2. A great black and white blob thing! Great to see you adventuring out and about. Would love to learn more about the strangely placed plane, too.

Scenic trip out

Still snow on the ground so there has been nothing going on with the house. Unfortunately the new tablet Rob has been on for his heart made...
