Bit of planting

A bit colder today so more work on our bedroom. We now have one wall stripped and sanded and one door is just about done too.  We discovered the under layer was varnish which made a real sticky mess!

Here's a reminder of how it started

We need to think about some shelter in the garden for birds. So while Rob was stripping and sanding Jill popped into the garden in the rain to get some trees / bushes in. They won't grow very high but hopefully will encourage some migrants in the future. Its very difficult as there is no clue to what is underneath when you dig. Today's holes dug found a full size fishing net buried in the soil
We plan on putting in quite a few plants  but have started with around 25. A mixture of  Alder, Sycamore,  Violet Willow, Japanese Larch, Snow Berry and Cotoneaster.
The area will be levelled a bit more when the weather improves.

  1. Good luck with the garden. You're surely gonna need one of those heavy windbreak fence things so that they get a chance to grow.

Scenic trip out

Still snow on the ground so there has been nothing going on with the house. Unfortunately the new tablet Rob has been on for his heart made...
