2 good photography days

Thursday involved a dentist appt for Jill, so not much birding time in-between guests. Still managed to get a nice curlew on the drive.

On the way back Jill checked Bixter quarry for a reed bunting but didn't spot it. Did find a nice raven though.

Once guests were checked in it was over to Melby for a sneaky hour out. Lots of folk on the beach so not many birds, but did get grouse and some lovely wheatears on the way back, plus a hybrid Canada goose at Dale.

Friday we said goodbye to Patrick and Zora who had been with us for a week. We were sad to see them go but had a quick wander down South to add the pec sandpiper to his trip list and maybe the bluethroat at Sumburgh.

We didn't find it and said our goodbyes. Super people!

We were originally going for Puffins but Rob decided to change plans and go to Whalsay for another really smart Bluethroat. The original finder came to help, so big thanks to John Lowrie. Smart bird

Whalsay is always lovely.
