Fetlar

A change from the Skerries today as the Red necked Phalaropes are back on Fetlar. The ferries were busy so it was an early start but it meant we had more time over there than usual.

It was actually cloudy ( how dare
it) and quite windy but we saw them quickly. They are already chasing each other around.

While we were watching a snipe walked right up to the car.

Afterwards Jill walked up to the hide at Funzie. No phalropes but some whooper Swans ans unfortunately for a duckling, 2 bonxies.

Fetlar is doing well this year for breeding birds. Particularly Redshanks.

There were lots of bonxies clearing up a dead sheep at Tresta beach.

What a good day
