April showers

We nearly didn't go out as planned today as when we opened the door it was doing this...

Didn't last long though, since we decided to go to find some puffins.

Sumburgh was pretty blowy with lots of fulmars, razorbills on the sea, but no puffins.

We did get a nice cup of coffee!

At Grutness Jill found a summer plummage Great Northern Diver at the end of the pier.

There were some nice Ringed Plovers too

At Virkie it was good to see some plants showing as they seem a little later this year. There were some good waders and a goldcrest too.

Rob picked up the greenshank at Spiggie but it flew before Jill saw it.  There were a few lambs at Leebitton.

Then it was back to Lerwick for a quick peek at the long staying little gull.

It was a surprisingly good day in the end
