Temporary door

We actually went to the doctors for Jill today just for a yearly blood check. Yuk!

Then we made it to Lerwick to return the electric car.  With a bit more driving under our wing, the electric side of it isnt so bad and we have found where the fast chargers are here. The Volvo seems really uncomfortable now!

As the weather was absolutely stunning so we changed plans and went looking for coal tits. Didn't find any, but did find  a Great Spotted Woodpecker and lots if Goldcrests.

Then, before could we could check for coal tits ( as they are actually very rare here) elsewhere news if a pallid swift in Lerwick came out. We  just needed to drive about a mile!

Target achieved. It flies fast.

We stopped at the garage for fuel on the way back, but they didn't have any. We stopped in the parking bay for some lunch bits, unfortunately Jill didn't notice someone pull up right behind and when leaving the bay looked up the fuel lane to make sure what was coming but couldn't see the car right behind. Oops. Luckily it was a bump at less than 5mph so no damage done. Just as well as it was Bruce's son, Max's new car! Not a good idea blocking someone in a bay nor not checking unusual places cars might be.

It was a lovely day for birdwatching though.
We found 5 Redpolls at the Bod on the way home too.

Back at home- feeling a big guilty for being out longer than planned, Jim had been hard at work removing the old front door, putting a temporary one in while we remove the leaky porch, and changing the sockets in the porch. The white ones stuck out too much!

Nice pastel sunset with an odd gap in the panorama  as Foula was under cloud.

Scenic trip out

Still snow on the ground so there has been nothing going on with the house. Unfortunately the new tablet Rob has been on for his heart made...
