The porch is definately taking shape.
Jill tidied the pointing, gave the last wall a good clean with acid and then washed it down. When it's dry we can oil it. After coffee break, it was up the ladder to paint the ceiling.
Bruce worked on some of the recycled pitch pine. It starts as very large thick pieces so they need cutting down and preparing. The stone walls are also very not straight so he made templates for the sides. It will be a tiered windowsill.Pepper enjoyed the door being open to let out the acid fumes.
This afternoon, Jill cut the grass. It was much too long so was hard work. It was necessary to stop regularly to move froglets out of the way!
The light this evening was lovely.
This evening a quick visit to Melby and Bousta. Lots of Turnstones about, one Arctic Tern still, Wagtail and a few guillimots.
Bousta is one of Jill's favourite spots.
