Got to love a Puffin

As they will be off soon and its a good opportunity for Rob, we had a puffin filled day today at Sumburgh.

It was quite busy and started quite foggy....

Ended up being a lovely day, on and off.

Rob sporting his new, went a bit wrong, hair cut, which isn't allowed on the blog.....

Was able to get to the puffins for some photography too.

(The new trimmers decided to go really really short.)

Excellent day with lots of interesting people on holiday and visiting from the cruise ship in. The Americans there today were really friendly and we made a new Dutch friend. The birds also gave us lots of entertainment.

The only downer was the coffee shop decided to close early.

On the way home we were delighted to see this huge family of mergansers.

  1. It was nice to meet you today (I am the guy from Netherlands). I have been trying to find someone to maybe take me to good locations for otter photography on 18 or 19 July (19 would be the best for me). I did not succeed.

Do you have good knowledge and are you open to do a day (or part of) otter photography. And what would that cost me? I know how to photograph but I dont know location and I have no rental car, I stay at Sumburgh Lighthouse keepers cottage itself. You can also contact me +31642493007 (whatsapp). I know it is very short term, it is a spontaneous idea.

Scenic trip out

Still snow on the ground so there has been nothing going on with the house. Unfortunately the new tablet Rob has been on for his heart made...
