Sunny Cairngorms

It was cold but a gloriously sunny day. We did a bit of shopping for the new kitchen  and then drove to Findhorn Valley. We didn't see any Golden Eagles today but had a buzzard and stonechat. Very distant deer too.

A   Brown Hare gave us a good show on the way back. Along with several Pheasants.

There wasn't as much snow as we thought but Cairngorm mountain base was still busy. While looking for a space we spotted Carl Chapmand and his wife Tanya. Funnily enough we met them in almost exactly the same spot on our last visit in November. Very weird.

They had been up and hadn't had Ptarmigan. We decided not to go up as its pricey. Instead   we doubled back to Loch Garten for Red Squirrels and Crested Tits. Unfortunately the RSPB had put a temporary shed right on the feeder station and  closed the footpath where the squirrel feeders were!!

At this point we found out our B and B's bathroom was on a different floor to the room so we quickly had to find another that Rob could get to the loo!

We gave up and went for chips when a hare stopped in the road and  Jill spotted two Roe Deer.

Chips were good.

New b and b - excellent.
