It's been a long time coming but we have a new door. Yay!
Jill started the day with a dash to Lerwick for some dark grey paint and found the right shade on the reduced stand , always a bonus.
Managed to get some good shots of the twite on the front gate too.
Jim had done a lovely job oiling the new fireplace and giving it a good coat of linseed. Then he painted it. Looks a million dollars.
Whilst Jim was oiling the slates, Bruce removed the hall flooring by the door, and replaced it, putting some insulation underneath.
They both the whipped out the old door and started putting in the new. Cracking.
It's going to let so much more light in
Jill spent the afternoon shifting more slates out of the way while Rob did some tidying. Found a pretty spider
It was quite a nice evening so we headed over to Sandness for the Taiga Bean Goose. A tick for Jill. We found it quickly and had a few other nice birds at Melby Pier.
Rob also found a 1st year Iceland Gull. Nice hare on the way home.
Another good day.
