We had a change of plan today and decided we would have to remove the panelling in the bedroom as it needs to have insulation behind it.. Bruce took it off and it was the right thing to do. Along the edge was a channel going right down into the foundations. Biiiigggg draft. Underneath, Bruce found whatwe think was a time capsule, hidden behind the wall. A small bundle of newspapers dated July 1902. Bit fragile but really interesting. We have put them away safely for now.
The panels, we will work on and reuse as much as can. It was really filthy behind there.
Jill filled up the channel and did some painting today.
Rob had 2 hospital appointments this afternoon so we had an early lunch as there had been some snow. The roads were clear but it was a chilly drive. Good to see some lights up in Lerwick.
