Shetland ice

 This morning was beautifully sunny but cold.


We decided to head to Lerwick to check out the harbour. It was our first time meeting Shetland Ice. The road to the top was riddled with black ice with the car sliding backwards down the hill. After a bit of gentle reversing and a wee bit more speed we managed to get up the hill. Funnily enough, we met the gritter at the top so at least we knew coming back down the hill wouldn't be so scary.

We then met the right kind of road block.



We found a few bits and bobs in the harbour but it was gloomy and grey out East.








Found this in a shop window in Lerwick. It made Jill chuckle.
