It was a nice morning, if a bit chilly but it got worse as the day went on so we got our outside jobs done in the morning.
Bruce went back up top and started capping the chimneys so they are now just about done. It's just putting in the shutters now and to give them a solid seat. That will be them watertight. Yipeeeee. Then it's just adding a flue and insulating ready to put in the log burner. He also did some mire work on the attic hatch
Michael got to play with the bigger bit and heavy duty drill. Jill could barely lift it. He will have some sore muscles tomorrow but the hole is now done and the waste pipe through.
Patrick carried on in his little cupboard under the stairs taping and filling the plasterboard. It's quite cosy in there!
Jill bagged some more peat and waterproofed some of the outside pointing. It was still really wet round by the courtyard still so before lunch it was time to start digging a channel to drain the water. It was quite a distance to the dry burn in the field so it didn't get finished before lunch.
Bruce left some mortar from the chimneys so Jill used it up pointing the old kitchen, now it's getting drier. Patrick carried on with the channel so by the time Jill got outside there was actually a full blown baby burn.
It continued running all day so we hope it is just a natural spring.
Turned into a nasty evening so it was a night in front of the TV with the ex feral kitty. Apparently, once they get beyond 8 weeks they remain feral.
No one told Pepper!
