Soggy birding

This morning, one of our friends had a garage sale so we popped down to pick  up a few bits. We stayed in her b and b at Tingwall when we came up last August and she is now retiring for some well earned time off.

As we were near Lerwick we popped to the cash point and sat on Vistoria peir for a bit. It was quite warm but windy. There were several tysties in the harbour.

While we were there news of a Whites thrush came out so we drove to the High School a mile away. By the time we got there the weather turned and the wind picked up and it started raining fairly hard.

The Whites thrush didn't really play ball but Jill got it in flight. Rob stayed in the car as it was too windy for him to stand.

We headed back and the wind got really strong. Unfortunately the scaffolding started banging on the house so we had to call the company out so we didn't damage the roof.

We also got a bit of sanding done on the remaining wood panelling.

The weather has been decidedly wet and windy so we stayed in over the weekend but did get to visit Penny to see her fab decorations.   Toda...
