Mouching

This morning  was glorious so Jill started outside bagging some more peat and emptying some wormy wood out of the barn to burn. Another bonfire done!

We have both been a bit low this weekend as the solicitor who was supposed to be working on Robs GP negligence claim pulled out ' because  he is not medical trained'!!!!! It's taken him over 2 years to decide this was a problem so we now have a ridiculously short time to sort something out. Looks like we might have to do it ourselves. Nothing runs smoothly.

So we just decided to head off and mouch a out to see what we could see.

Good numbers of Redwings and Fieldfares with the odd Song Thrush and lots of Kittiwakes at Melby. Then on to Norby beach - a first for Rob. There was a beautiful group of 16 Long-tailed ducks and a Golden Eye. As well as Ringed Plover.

On the way back to the road we saw a sheep with the biggest ears ever. Made us chuckle.

Note the starlings hitching a ride.

After that we went to Scalloway Harbour to try again for the King Eider. Got it this time.

With a little bit of time left before it got dark we drove to Hoswick for a really showy Barred Warbler in a Sycamore tree.

All in all, a lovely mouchy day.
