There are some trees

Lovely walk this morning down to the plantation and beach. Again nothing in the plantation but the beach was buzzing. 40 to 50 gulls all gathering on the rocks and in the air and lots of Turnstone.

New flowers are appearing and the cliffs and meadows are starting to look lovely. The birds foot trefoil is tiny though. Also had lady's smock and a new sedge, glaucous sedge.

The planning chap came and took some more photos.  We have been passed to a Planning officer who is currently on holiday but she has emailed so we can start working on the forms we need. We have been told to stop doing anything that isn't an essential repair. We think everything is!

This afternoon we went to order the paint for the windows. It meant we visited the toll centre in Lerwick for the first time. Its a cute collection of shops  with an artisan feel. It's a really good facility.

On the way home we stopped at the Kergord plantation to see what we could see. We had a cuckoo and 2 chiff chaff. It's a beautiful place with lots of bitey insects..
