Hail and hearty

 Jim has been working in the porch again. Its a bit fiddly.

Bruce noticed one of the joists upstairs was lying a bit low so before he put the flooring back, he raised it a bit. It's now sitting perfectly. All space gets used quickly. There is a new floor under there.

Bruce and Jill got to work in the bathroom.

Jill started filling the plasterboard and then helped Bruce tidy up the insulation. It then needed taping but unfortunately we ran out .

 While Bruce put up some more board, Jill drove to Bixter to see if the shop had any. Unfortunately not and a hail storm meant  stopping for a bit.

There was a big increase on the number of Golden Plover by the house. Well over 100 today.

Love to recycle

 Double recycling day. 

Jim is working on the porch ceiling. It now is insulated and we are rescuing some of the old floor boards on the ceiling.

Bruce has been busy working upstairs in the bathroom boxing in the stairs. Again, we have used old floorboards.

The weather was a bit odd again

The 3 kitties had their boosters this morning so were in an odd mood this afternoon keeping each other company.

On the way back..........

There were 3. One was distant but the other 2 stayed close. They seemed wary of each other though.

After getting back from the vets Jill sanded a bit of door frame she wasn't happy with and repainted. Then she did some sanding on the bannister.

Bit more of the white stuff

 There was a smattering this morning and on and off all day we had hail, sun and snow. It was pretty breezy too. 

 Bruce started upstairs in the bathroom putting the stud walling back in as the window is now finally dry.

It took a while as the window now sits properly on the sill so it's lower than before. Its ready for plasterboard now.

We also checked the attic and the wall is definately not seeping water, and it rained  a lot yesterday so it looks like the roof is sealed, finally!

Rob had 2 hospital appointments so we headed off at lunchtime, with some bits for the tip. There was a lovely redwing right near the hospital.

And the Golden Plover near the house has now been joined by lots more.

Jim is working on the porch today and prepared for putting a hatch up so we can access the electrics and still line the ceiling out.

Very exciting evening. Finally managed, after a year, to get a Tesco delivery slot. Yay ice cream at last!

Gloss over

 High winds over night made Jill a bit twitchy. She checked on the window and the worktop in the garden and they were both fine. Phew. It stayed wet and windy all day, although it dropped frpm 60mph to 50ish this afternoon. 

it wasn't really a wildlife watching day so we went to an indoor table top sale and Nesting Scrapstore. Found a few interesting things to buy including a nice pine mirror for one of the rooms.

It really was miserable.

The Golden Plover was trying to hide near the house.

When we got in Jill glossed the kitchen door frame.

Glad we were able to reuse the ogee.
