Sunday morning painting job

Jill started painting quite early.so we could pop out later. Mostly done in the new lounge/ kitchen/ diner- just a bit of 3rd coat to do and the corner. Getting a bit bored of painting now!

Early lunch and then some local patch stuff. Chilly wind and drifting cloud but the light was lovely. Nice Moorhen, which are unusual here- there is a pair so fingers crossed. Large flock of Golden Plover one of which we first thought might be an American Golden Plover. Although he is dark, it's just a normal one.

Melby and Norby were surprisingly busy with people- but it is the school hols now. Still had 10 Great Northern Divers, a few waders, more Long Tailed Ducks and some gulls.

Nice little afternoon out. We stopped at Bridge of Walls on the way home for Mergansers.

Birding day out

We haven't had a full day out birding for months due to Robs health. It was glorious today so we left early and started on our local patch, then  making our way East and South.

A 53 species day, not too shabby.

Off like a rocket

Yesterday was PA day so Jill picked Mark off and headed for  an Unsty day. Mark hasn't spent much time in Unst so we did some exploring...
