The best Red necks yet

We went to Fetlar today. The weather was dull and often drizzly but the birds didn't care!

The inter island ferries are all over the place. Luckily we got out early ( after sorting our lovely guests their breakfast) otherwise the 11 o'clock ferry we booked wouldn't have got us there. We were on the 10.10.

We got to Funzie loch, and straight away picked up red necked phalaropes.

They were mating and chasing each other around. We had 4 to start.

In the hopes the light would improve we checked out the other spots and also found at least 4 at Houbie along with snipe.

We went back to Funzie and had our best showing ever with at least 7 birds chasing each other around. Lots of photos, sorry it's hard to choose,!

While Jill was hidden behind a grassed over wall. A dunlin walked right up.
