Weather was a bit gloomy today but Jill popped out to check on the local patch.
Lots of common gulls around. Some starting to nest.
Then Jill stumbled across a pair of Red breasted mergansers getting jiggy with it. It was an interesting sequence as you will see. Not much foreplay and then lots of ' what a clever chap I am' afterwards.
On the way home the sun came out- on a glorious shimmering lapwing.
Found a few lambs to watch on the way home.
Then it was home. The driveway was busy. 2 pairs of wheatears, over 120 oystercatchers about 20 curlews, 3 whimbrel and lots of lambs from the hill sheep.
