It's been quite warm the last few days, plenty of sunshine, a few showers and fog. Jill has been doing some gardening. The long grass has been parted to see how the willows are doing. Better than last year. The long grass seems to have protected them a bit. The new strimmer makes a difference too
The temporary door stop step Bruce put in is definately stopping the from water coming in.
Jim has been back for a couple of days finishing the fascias and putting up new guttering. Hope it doesn't rain this weekend or we will get wet coming out of the front door!
Rob is slowly improving. Unfortunately the emergency dental work didn't work so it was back to the dentists today. He had his usual Friday foot check and the new split isn't as bad as we feared so hopefully it will begin to heal. While he was there ( got to love Shetland NHS) the took a look at his eye. The bleed from the Sepsis will need fixing but it showed he has an infection in his eye called Uveitis. A quick trip to Specsavers for an emergency appointment. Drops in, eye checked again and he now has the right medication to fix it. He will need 6 weeks of treatment. Very grateful. Jill was also put on antibiotics today so we are keeping the NHS going.
Bruce and Jill have been dipping in and out of the attic. It gets hot up there so the insulation will go up in bits. The first side has been prepped and the first sheets are in. Bruce cutting and foaming. Jill carrying the sheets up, taping and clearing up.
The chocks mean the insulation doesn't go too far back leaving a nice house breathing gap.
Our first Minke whale passed the house today.
Lovely sunset Wednesday. Beautiful light.
