Next step and a dose of debarcle

We are a a fair bit behind but we made a start on the next step. If it hasn't blown away, we put up our sign to get us registered for short term let's today.

Lots of pins as its mighty windy! It will take a few weeks to get it approved.

We started on the hardcore in the hole yesterday which was a bit of a debarcle as the delivery truck dropping off the bags got stuck in the driveway. Tried and failed to get a tractor( thanks Alan for helping). So, 2 bags went back on to weigh it down and then it came out, although at one point it started sliding towards the house, sideways!

Then, dropping the two bags back again, one split, so had to stay on the truck.

The three bags soon got put in the hole and thumped, will Jim kindly went to get a replacement bag as they weren't prepared to come out again. Hmmmmm.

This morning there was no Bruce so the team of two spread the last bag, thumped it and used up the last of the sand. Jim even thumped the holes in the drive where the truck had damaged it.

Jill and Rob sent the afternoon assembling the photo lab that has been hiding under the stairs  seems to have gone back together well.

Just temporarily, we are moving us, kitchen wise, into the new lounge until the kitchen can go in the extension. Jill built a workstation  for the fridge to go under and put a microwave on. It wobbles but will last plenty long enough.

A couple of yay moments, we heard back today from the grant people. After a two year battle we have been told we will get solar panels. Brilliant news. Rob also heard that he will get a small grant to help reopen the business here. There  will be the opportunity to buy some bits to make working with his disability a bit easier.

Still 1000's of these in the garden. pale straw pearl micro moths.
