Well, it's been a busy few days
Geri helped strip the bed.
After a late night Friday, Saturday was also full on. Jill added compost to the new bed and planted seeds.
It has net over to keep the cats off. There are also some seeds in the ' grave' bed down in the field m. Then Jill did some tidying up cutting up some old timber. Unfortunately whilst cutting, her thumb popped out of its socket for a bit. Ouchie!! It wasn't out long but has ripped the tendon a bit. No swelling but bruised at the elbow!!
So it was relax and enjoy the sun for a bit sat outside with the kitties .
Then it was Eurovision followed by a trip to Melby to wait for the Aurora that didn't happen.
At 1.30am we gave up and went to bed!
Sunday was an early start. Very excited. Booked on the ferry to go to Out Skerries. Bruray and Housay. We picked up Sean and drove to Vidlin. The ferry is broken so they have a replacement which means no reversing on. Yay!
It gets a but rough so they tie the car down.
Lovely day with beautiful sea.
The Skerries are gorgeous. Friendly folk and you cam walk easily from one end to the other ( Although we took the car for Rob.)
The birds were good. Jill found 2 Wrynecks and refund a Long eared owl, that didn't hang around for it's photo. A fair few other migrants, including an Ictrine Warbler found by our friend Chris.
It was a tiring but lovely day. Jill and Sean did around 20000 steps!
We came off the ferry and headed to Lerwick for some food. Fish and chips. Nice! ( we let Rob have a few chips as a treat. He's still being good on his low carb diet..
We sat at Mairs pier to eat and had the amazing sight of over 100 razorbills courting right in by the pier. They make a cool noise.
So, today Jill didn't feel like doing much. The wooden box in the bathroom had a sitting down coat of paint and the door had its final fill, rub down and paint.
Also a bit of kitten wearing out playtime.
Bruce started making the cupboard doors today.
