Grand day out

Not much happened yesterday as the weather was rubbish, windy and wet. We did some tidying up.

Today was not bad, sunny but a bit windy.

We picked up our friend Sean and went South to see if we could find some migrants. It was actually quiet on that front with only a couple of Robins and some Goldcrests. Did fleetingly see a Swallow at the end of the day.

We went to Grutness, Sumburgh, Virkie, Quendale, Spiggie and Scousbrough, Hoswick and finished in Lerwick. Nice to see some Bar- tailed Godwits, Purple Sandpipers and Long- tailed ducks. Sean did amazingly well to spot a Sparrowhawk in a distant garden as we were driving.

It was a really nice, relaxed, day out.

And the sea was an amazing colour.

When Jill got back , she made a temporary attic hatch.
