As the weather forecast was good today and not good for the next few days we decided to bird today- as the season for migrants only has a couple of weeks left. We left mid morning, after coffee break.
We drove to Skaw beach which is lovely, and passed the new building on the cliffs being prepared for the space station.
The Arctic Warbler has been showing well so we were hopefully but when we got there, there was no sign. After about half an hour another birder relocated it on a distant fence line. We were a bit disappointed by the distance, but it was a nice bird to see. We were thinking of leaving when it flew to the burn. Then we had amazing close views.
A heron drifted over too.
