With Robs heart condition, distressing was important today. We decided to look for migrants in the local patch and staying in the West - we had to get milk and bread anyway as Tescos had none yesterday.
The walls bod was good today with lots of Redpolls, Goldcrests and Siskins.
We picked up our shopping bits and went a couple of miles to Da Gairdan, one of Jill's favourite places. There was one waxwing at the entrance gate.
It was lovely to meet Ruby who created the garden with her husband Alan. It was a good long chat.. there were lots of Redpolls and Goldcrests here too
Then we had some good news. Earlier in the week Jill was sure she saw 4 blows at sea from the house just as it was getting dark. Too far to photograph but she thought they were humpbacks. Then 2 humpback appeared a bit further up the coast the next morning. Today was our first opportunity to go. And it was stunning watching them, although they were distant. - and all so close to the house. Brilliant end to the day. They say Whale watching is one of the best stress relievers and they are right.
