Udal law

Today was again a lovely day and very calm so Jill was up the tower again putting a 2nd coat on the areas painted yesterday and doing the left hand side if the porch.

Bruce has been dwanging upstairs.

Little dude us still going strong.

Nog has been missing for a while. We were hoping she had hidden up somewhere on a clutch but think she should be back by now. Very sad.

Yesterday we missed a bit off the blog as we had to contact the police. We went bird watching at Boddam but unfortunately there is a person there who just doesn't like people at all. She has decided that Shetland isn't part of Scotland and follows Udal law, which doesn't include the Scottish right to roam law. Anyone off the road, on a track, bird watching, collecting seaweed etc is fair game.

Over the last few years she has been intimidating locals and visitors alike and yesterday it was our turn. We did feel we had to report it to the police as the person is seriously out of hand and has been known to get forceful. The police were supposed to come today for a statement but are now coming tomorrow.

Actually the Udal law thing is quite interesting and could mean Shetland isn't actually part of Scotland. There are some who take it very seriously. To be fair, a lot of the time Shetland feels like a different world to the UK.

Did get off a couple of pictures of the Shrike too.
