Mainland bound

Yesterday was busy catching up the kitties in their baskets to go to the cattery as the ferry was actually going . Morgan didn't want to play ball. We left Michael working in the upstairs bathroom and headed off.

Once the kitties were dropped off we planned to do some investigating of Lerwick but we got an email from planning saying there was one thing not right on our building consent. We had plenty of time so we headed back to the computer to get it sorted before leaving. En route, Jill spotted our first Shetland Mistlethrush on a verge.

Rob sorted out the planning and sent it off ( we have now heard it is waiting for validation so fingers crossed they like everything we are doing). Jill helped Michael for an hour moving stuff around and cleaning up - until the Henry bag exploded!

We left him to it and headed for the ferry. Luckily they had a cancellation so we got a nice central cabin which was pretty lucky as it was gale force 8 so a bit rough. Left the door open so you can see.

We actually managed to get in on time!

Heading South we made a quick stop at Musselbrough where there were lots of waders but nothing unusual. Jill wondered if any of the curlew were from Shetland.

Then we continued South heading for Yorkshire with another break in our favourite, Northumberland. It waslovely to catch up with some woodland birds.

Finally we rocked up in Scarborough so we haven't got so much driving tomorrow.

Bruce sent us a photo of how the bathroom is coming.
