Our friend Nick came back from Fair Isle today so we went and met his plane, leaving Patrick and Michael working on their own. They probably got more done with no one saying what if we tried...... or how about! Think they gad a mini flood though.
It's a tiny plane that seats 8.
We drove south as we had hoped either the Whites thrush or Myrtle Warbler would still be about. They had moved on but we decided to go and see the dusky warbler at Ocraquoy instead. It didn't show so we went for a coffee we did see this though that we think is a wind turbine.
As we left with our cups the dusky warbler was seen again so we went back. This time it showed well.
Heading south again we stopped at Spiggie and Nick spotted a nice male long tailed duck.
Final stop at Quendale Mill added siberian chiff chaff to the day.
Then it was off to the Sumburgh Hotel for a lovely meal followed by a wet drive home.
