Well we said yesterday we had one major problem
Guessed what it is yet?
For those that don't recoganise it ( we didn't) it's Japanese knotweed. It's an invasive species that can do lots if damage. On mainland its a scary problem but it seems here it's- well, whatever. This is a week's growth - about 2.5 feet. It's now been sprayed so we hope some of the bluebells and bushes survive underneath it. It will probably need several sprays. The funny bit is it says only spray on a calm no wind day. ( CUE LAUGHTER)
Its actually quite pretty and grows just about everywhere.
Anyway, enough of that , we will let you know if we have zapped it. This morning Jill's walk was to Dale if Walls beach and to the cliffs which are stunning and then back along the knotweed ridden burn. Nice mountain hare on the cliff path. - First picture you can just about see the house.
A new plant yet to be identified
The sun came out mid afternoon so after a few hours of sanding we decided to head to Sandness, one of our favourite spots found so far. Good photo opportunities today
