Theres a light at the end of the tunnel

 Jill's visit to London carried on today

Today was awesome.

Wembley Park is an area of London that Jill doesn't know very well even though her grandparents came from Neasden. It was good to have a wander. We did some shopping, ate some awesome food at an amazing place called Boxpark that has like 20 street food type businesses and an indoor crazy golf.

Ro and Jill walked to the local country park which was nice but pretty muddy. Lots of rig necked parakeets and a random female black redstart on a roof.

Then it was back to he hotel for a swift cocktail.

And then the major event. Starlight Express. Whoo hoo. Jill has been obsessed with it for nearly 40 years so it was amazing to see it again.  It was absurdly stunning, packed full of energy, fun and some good tunes! Highly appropriate to its new of its songs. ' the light at the end of the tunnel'. We have been through some tough times recently and this  sums up beautifully where we are at.

Made it

 Jill left early to head to the airport. It was 50mph winds and miserable. The in bound plane landed on time

Take off was delayed as they took off 20 passengers so they could take off on shorter runway due to the wind direction. Luckily Jill had checked in early!  The flight then had to wait an extra hour and a half to sort bags out. It was a wobbly take off but then there wasn't much to see.

Landing was interesting. 10 minutes of ' Oh Heck', at one point  the wings were aligned vertically so the plane went round for another go! Not a landing to repeat.

 There was sill plenty of time to catch the 2nd flight to Heathrow.  Nice new A320 neo airbus. Which is big enough to ride the wind. Thank goodness.

A bit of train to Wembley to meet the girls at just after 5. Then Wagamamas for tea.

Back to the room for lots of chats.

Weather change.

 The last couple of days have been cold and windy. Today added rain so not much  going on in the extension. Jim I'd a few hours finishing to the top of the North side on Tuesday whi h he deserves a medal for it was blooming chilly!

The cats have spent most of the time indoors. Can't say we blame them.

Jill has been keeping her fingers crossed.

Tomorrow's she is escaping on her own for the weekend to meet Sam and Ro in London for a birthday weekend

 Hopefully the wind will calm down enough to fly to Aberdeen! Early start in the morning . Rob has a fridge full of very easy to cook goodies while Jill is away.

Nice day out

 Saturday was quite nice so we went for a dri ve. Started at Quendale and Hillwell. Didn't reconnect with the bufflehead but found a carrion crow at St Ninians and the American wigeon at Hillwell

On Sunday Jill went over to a friend's at Syfster to get some willow cuttings, which went straight into the ground. Hopefully they will take. It was trying to snow so was very cold but there was a lovely Goldeneye and a Canada Goose near the Brig o waas.

Jim did some more work on the roof although it's cold out there. He has started on the North side.

jill was out today passing up tiles and cutting copper wire . The wire is for the edge tiles. Front side is done.

The sun was nice today
