Another 2 bits finished

Bruce did a fantastic job fixing the mess if floorboards left by the elevtricians, on the landing. Looks so much better and he also finished off the window seat cupboard. The insulation has gone in now the electrics are done

The 4mm ply is upstairs ready to put underneath the carpet in the bug room.

Jill spent a couple of hours chipping a bit more of the porch before leaving for Robs cardiology appointment.

On the way back, we diverted to West Burra for a really showy Rosy Starling. Looks really smart against oranges! It turned into a nice evening too.

Getting ready

Had a bit of a weekend off house buts but did finish off the new woodwork on the crate.

Most of the day was spent doing paperwork. Rob putting all our invoices in order and Jill started on the new business website.

It's going to take a while!

Late afternoon  gave time for a quick visit to Melby and the local patch. It was a good evening.

On the way home, Jill went for a walk off the beaten track and found a new Loch. It was a nice route and  there was a surprise - one of our usual otters was a fair bit off the usual spots and was using the footpath. Well, there is no law of trespass!

Migrants

There were quite a few migrants in today. Coming in with the wind. So  after an appointment this morning we went down to Sumburgh to see a Barred Warbler and a Greenish . Both showed well.

There were lots of Wheatears and Wren families in the quarry too.

Then down to Grutness for a non showy Red backed Shrike.

And a large white butterfly.

A quick stop at Hoswick Burn just added Willow Warbler to the day.

As we weren't leaving, news of dolphins just off Mousa came out so we were very close so we had our first visit to Noness for around 20 Rissos Dolphins.

And a rabbit..

A beautiful spot to end a lovely day. ( apart from the bitey things)

Tern chicks

The weather has been poor for going out, we actually felt sorry for our lovely guests. We did manage a quick break at the weekend for a dri...
