Good night out

 Usual Friday hospital appointment so we went in early to get the shopping so we could squeeze some bird watching in.

There was an amazingly confiding Little Bunting at the Burn of sound. We spent a happy couple of hours watching it feed.

Then we finished a good day meeting some new friends at the Northern Lights bar in Brae. We did lots of good chatting with Sarah and David and made it to last orders. A very rare thing!

Getting older though needed a bit of a lye in this morning.

Today Rob has been setting up his new computer. It's going well.

Jill was again tidying all the little bits of insulation in the attic and then headed out to improve chicken fort know. The little toads keep getting out. Start of a higher fence going in.

Think that s high enough. Just need to do the other 3 sides now but that was the main escape hole.. while outside Jill had two visitors. Frank our friend from the village was walking Jess ans Timmy, who knew the house and Sonny from his old grocery delivery van. We had a very nice chat.

Another Siberian visitor

 The sun has continued to shine. It's been amazing. Means we can continue to get outside jobs done.

 Jim has been adding the front guttering. All going well although the downpipe will need to be creative as the drain is under the new front door step. It was too much of a drop so we had to add a second step.

Jill spent time putting in th first big gate post. Big hole, lots of cement and a hernia!!!!

It's a bit big.

Also,some more insulation got finished with tape in the attic.

Jill found another flagstone for the path. Just need a few more from somewhere.

There have been two good birds too see. A distant Golden Oriole in Walls and a nearly as distant and skulky  Eastern Crowned Warbler in Sandness. The 2nd was a big twitch which we have got out of the habit of doing. Lots of folk and some dodgy parking blocking passing bays and parking on a road verge that' s on a single track road' so not really wide enough. Disappointing that many forget to be sensible  as I upsets the locals.

 It was difficult to photograph as it was at the back of trees but a nice bird none the less. All the way from  siberia/china/korea.

Glorious

 It really didn't feel like 1st October, the weather was beautiful. 

Jim was here putting up the gutters round the front of the house.  Another bit to tick off the list.

 As it was so nice, Jill went for a walk to the cliffs. It was stunning with some super light and pretty reflections.

There was a pod of dolphins too. Can't work out what they are as the light was really strong but there were about 15.
