First timer

We left home today in thick fog.  It cleared a bit as we drove but stayed a bit murky all day. The sea was calm so it was a good crossing to Out Skerries.

Our friend Penny came with us. It was her first time. We introduced her to some of the good areas to check and found some bits we hadn't done before.

There were a few migrants about, Redstart, Spotted Flycatcher, Lesser Whitethroats and quite a few Willow Warblers and Chiffchaffs. We just managed to catch up with the Red Backed Shrike before we left. Penny was good company and we had some laughs.

The long grass over there was very wet. Jill's shoes were full of water when we finally got home!

Gorgeous weather

What a lovely week it's been. It's been smashing so we have made the most of it and been out and about on the local patch the last two days. A bit of the cliffs at home yesterday and today, Sandness. Lovely!

We had another good otter show too.

We made some new friends out and about today. Anna and Michael are on holiday here from Dublin. It was a lovely chat.

The willow warbler was hiding in the garden.

The extension is coming along well the 2nd wall is up.

We had a surprise for tea. Jill had forgotten to check  on the veggie patch for a while as it got mostly slugged. There was a good crop Iif Kale  not our favourite but nice fresh.

Well we think it was Kale, all the little labels had blown away!
