We are so lucky with our guests. We have had some amazing folk staying with us. It makes all our hardwork so worth it. We had our first Norwegian and Irish guests and we are still getting 10 out of 10's. After breakfast we decided to go and see the Crane again. It was much further away and flew just as we arrived so we only saw it as it flew over the car. It went high and flew along the a Weisdale valley, as it had been feeding well we weren't surprised. Today there was one on Orkney - maybe the same one?
We went to see the King Eider in Lerwick but the sea was choppy so it was hard to pick out and it was cold so we gave up. We did have nice common sandpipers on the way home. Not great photos as they didn't stay put very long.
Today, after some housework and making up the rooms, we popped out to our patch. Melby was lovely. It's good to see Sanderlings and a Common Tern back. Dunlin were getting frisky and the Great Northern Diver came over to be nosy. It's in beautiful summer plumage now
