Curtain

 We were losing heat into the hole whete the extension is. We put insulation board up but the cats got the sulks!. So Jill made a cat curtain.

It took a while, but they use it, even Spicey, the feral

The weather was ok today so we popped out for a bit. Started on the patch.

We had a wee bit of sun as you can see. But there were lots of showers.

We checked out Vesquoy and found an otter. Jill watched him for a while.

Always feel priviledged.

We went a bit south to look for the little bunting thats been around we didnt find it after quite a while looking. Did see lots of Linties ( twite)  some chiff chaffs and a lovely Goldfinch. We dont see them often on Shetland.

The beach was as beautiful as ever at Scousrough. Good to see some fulmars back.

On the way home, although the light was failing we got a nice dunlin and a heron.

Fun time!

 Jill was invited by our friend Sarah to have a fun time at   Aa Fired Up with her daughter

They arrived at ours so they could meet Mr Spikey, who didn't really want to wake up. Then we headed to town. We had two hours with lots of concentration and laughter. It was a good carers afternoon out session.

They items now have to go on the kiln so it will be intetesting to see how they come out. Jill was quite sad to leave Magnus behind.

It was good fun and the hot chocolate was scrummy. Thanks Sarah!

 On the way home, Jill checked her phone and there had been Dolphins seen an hour before in Dales Voe. Unfortunately there was no sign, but there were quite a few seals and a curious Dog Otter.

Winters here!

 We actually didnt have a lot of snow this morning but it has snowed on and off most of the day. Pretty windy too. Our guest, Alberto, went for a walk ( very brave) but it was ptetty cold in the house as the heating switched off again and we couldn't switch it back on. Bit embarrasing!

We spent the morning dealing with the grant company as Jill sent a fairly harsh email! We also phoned Vaillant who made the system and they talked us through fixing it- through my newly created hole in the cupboard! After an hour of press this and press that we got it going again. Guess what- it had all been set up incorrectly and we also think they havent put the necessary anti freeze back in after the leak.

So we left to drop Alberto at the bus giving plenty of time . It was very slushy but we got there safely and said our goodbyes.

Jill was supposed to be doing PA day but was a bit worried about getting stuck on the way home, so its been postponed. We had a quick stop on the way home.

It wad pretty and the light intense. You could see the snow coming in.

We did stop at the beach for 5 minutes before it started snowing heavily.

Shetland is beautiful even when the weather is bad
