Drumming

Yesterday was a good day in the garden. Jill did a bit mire cementing and Jim worked on the Soffits and Facias. Starting to look good.

Found some interesting caterpillars in between a stack of slates. Apparently they are four spot rustic.

There was a red aurora alert so Jill stuck her head out of the window. Not bad for snaps.

Unfortunately by the time the coats were on and kit assembled it had calmed down. Still nice though and it was amazing out there hearing several drumming snipe, lapwings, Golden plover and wigeon calling in the dark.

Jill did some digging today flattening out the area to the side of the house. There is a big pile of soil and stone dragged out from the foundations of the original  extension. Some will get used back where it came from, to create a pathway.

Jim did some more on the extension and helped put up some lights to make it easier for Rob to get to the front door. They are already working well.
