Cladding.

Jim was with us today so it was cladding time  . Jill did the carrying and some marking up while Jim got them on. Looking great with 2 sides now done.

We were hoping to get all the prints done and dropped off today but the Internet was down and of course we needed Internet for photoshop! Some are done but the rest will get done in the morning.

After yesterday's amazing trip, we had a quick break at Melby. Still a few divers around and it was good to see Dunlin back. Nice addition on 6 Barnacle Geese at Norby. Still have several pairs of golden Plover on the driveway.

Reward

Rob has been working on VAT and Jill spent the day working the files for printing tomorrow. The mounts finally arrived,  a week late. Jill also wrote to the parliamentary Ombudsman. We still haven't got anywhere with our grant for solar so this appears to be our last option.

So to reward ourselves we took a quick break and went to Melby. It started quiet but got very busy.

We ended up with a count of 18 Great Northen divers. Yes 18, and at least 14 red throated divers, 2 razorbills, 4 mergansers and 6 wheatears.

Good fun

It was a blast, although tiring. Sunday was very busy for us at the Vintage fair and we did lots of sessions  here are some more photos. Rob and I are enjoying playing around with A1 backgrounds.

Should finish working the files tomorrow. It was a good way to launch the business up here and we have lots if leads from it already. It also helped raise lots of money for hall repairs. The committee deserve a huge slap on the back it was so well organised.

We had a lovely surprise when we got home to see Jim had started the cladding. It looks amazing. He did a bit more today.

Busy week

The last of the side batons got put on the extension and the last coat of paint went on the fascias and soffits so it won't drip on the cladding. One side of the folding door has now had all it's undercoat on too.

Thursday we were up at the hall starting to set up for the weekends vintage fair photos  we haven't done it for a while so it's taking a while to get organised.

But if a wander on the way home. Good to see 4 gares close to the house chasing each other around

Friday night we went and took some sample pictures for the wall. . The stage area is really dark so it turns out, not an easy place to be, but all set up and ready to go

The displays are really interesting; all about the local shops around Walks. There were quite a few as people didn't travel to Lerwick often  one of the maps dated 1903 was interesting. We discovered the house amused to be called Suther House. It's a shame that name got lost in time. Suther means sighing wind. Very appropriate

We had some fun today and think we will be busy to.orrow for day 2 of the fair and exhibition. The draw of afternoon teas too.
