Newbie

There was a bit of aurora last night but the best bit was the absolutely stunning night sky. We are so lucky!

Jim is off down South next week but he managed to get the tiles on around the velux  window.

Before Robs hospital appointment, Jill managed to mix some concrete.

After Robs appointment  we headed towards Brae for an Orca fix. This single male has been in the same area all week, which is un usual. It was doing a lot of deep diving looking for food. He  is a new visitor to shetland and is unidentified and not from one of the usual pods.

We watched him for a couple of hours but he stayed distant. A grey heron did put on a show though.

On the way home, we had a quick diversion to Sandness. The tide was a really long way out so it was quiet, but there were a few curlews and around 30 purple sandpipers.

We have a window

Busy day today  as the weather was ok with the odd shower.

Jill did some shunting around ready for landscaping. Some large boulders came round the front and the pile of slates have been split between the two paths left.

There are some cobbles where the pile of slates were- and another fishing net, number 39!!

Jill also did some more on the path and put some hardcore down ready for the next bit.

Jim was busy on the roof. The velux is now in.

Small delay on adding ridge tiles as we have had to find another supplier but the last tiles should go on tomorrow.

Home again

Jill trip back was fairly uneventful with only a short delay, which is good for Loganair!

Had some time to kill at Aberdeen so indulged in a really nice pizza.

Jill was pretty tired so stopped a couple of times and got these with her mobile phone.

It was a nice surprise.
Rob has been working on the last bit  for the planning application around drainage so that has now gone off.

Today Jim started on putting  in the new velux.

Bentley supervised!

Jill moved the last of the slates round to where the paths will be and moved some biggish stones around for the retaining wall round the extension.
We had an appointment in  town and stopped for a takeaway as it was Jills 60th today. Bus pass time!

Lots of walking

Sam, Ro and Jill still soaking up London.

Another super day and we snuck over the 20000 steps.

In the morning we headed to Temple where we started a walking trail to find the holy grail. Very important to find it so we can solve all our financial worries 😉.

We found some interesting places we haven't seen before and had an awesome Sunday lunch mid route, at Ye Old Cock. We finished the trail mid- afternoon and then carried on walking down the Strand, through Trafalgar Square to St James's Park.

Another meal at Box Park, Yum, and then a last night treat at the Desert Cafe

Homeward bound today
