As Rob had an appointment at the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick we decided on a cheeky visit to Sumburgh although we thought it was abit early for Puffins to be settled there.
We stopped first at Weisdale where a lovely islander allowed us to watch the birds in his garden which happened to include Bramblings and Hawfinches. We had good views of both. Also good to see numbers of House Sparrows
It was then a drive to the South to see if there were any migrants at Sumburgh. There were several Robins, Goldcrests, Bramblings and lots of Twite. We did see Guillimots but the puffins were all out at see. What a shame we will need to go back!
